Beaverdam Creek Reservoir meeting draws hostile crowd

Nearly 50 Beaverdam Creek Reservoir stakeholders flooded the chief executive of Loudoun Water with complaints and borderline insults at a Wednesday community information meeting regarding the future use of the reservoir property, which was closed to the public in April.

Haymarket Bicycles owner wins nationals

On the first day of the 2014 USA Cycling Cross-Country Mountain Bike National Championships, four jerseys were handed out and one went to Jared Nieters, co-owner of Haymarket Bicycles. On July 17 in Macungie, Penn., the national championships kicked off at the Bear Creek Resort with riders taking home the first four coveted Stars-and-Stripes jerseys and 23 gold medals of the competition. Jared Nieters edged Rob McGee of San Clemente, Calif. and Blackstar Racing by 34 seconds in the men’s 30-99 class.
