Mary Rena Statler

Mary Rena Statler
84 of Whispering Pines died on March 16, 2013 at First Health Moore Regional Hospital.

She was born on August 17, 1928 in Betula, Pennsylvania to the late William and Frances Bailey. Mrs. Statler was a graduate of Robert Packer School of Nursing Sayre, PA and resided in Hamburg, NY prior to retiring to Whispering Pines in 1991. She was a member of the Country Club of Whispering Pines and a member of the Pinettes. She also volunteered at Whispering Pines Thrift Shop for many years. Mrs. Statler, a woman of varied interests, also enjoyed making porcelain dolls, oil and china painting, golf as well as Tai Chi.

She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Earl E. Statler; two sons, James Statler and his spouse, Michael Safranek of Chicago, IL, Jeffrey Statler and his spouse Tamara of Marshall, VA; one daughter, Deborah Evans and fiancé Edward Waida of Greenville, NC; also survived by three grandchildren, Paige and Molly Statler and Austin Evans.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister Donna Vollmer and one brother William F. Bailey, Jr.

A visitation was held at Boles Funeral Home in Southern Pines on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 from 12:00-1:30PM. A funeral Mass followed at St. Anthony of Padua Church, corner of N Ashe and E Vermont at 2:00PM. Interment immediately followed at Pinelawn Cemetery.
