Free Compost Awareness Day event on April 30

The Prince William County Solid Waste Division will host its Compost Awareness Day event, Saturday, April 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Balls Ford Road Compost Facility featuring "From the Ground Up" celebrity gardener Lisa Ziegler. The celebrity gardener is scheduled to speak at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Pick up free compost samples, view compost exhibits, watch a worm composting demo, buy a compost bin or pick up a plant for your garden. Prince William County Virginia Master Gardeners will also be on hand with tips and demos.
