- Police are searching for a man who raped a stranger in Manassas on Thursday night.

Woman abducted, raped by stranger in Manassas

On March 28th at 11:15PM, police responded to the area of Maplewood Dr and Peakwood Ct in Manassas (20111) for a rape. The victim, a 31 year old woman of Herndon, reported to police that she was walking to a residence of a known acquaintance in the above area when she was approached by an unknown man. The man displayed a handgun and forced the victim into a secluded area behind a townhome on nearby Vermont Pl where he then raped her. Following the encounter, the man fled the area on foot. The victim was transported to an area hospital. A police K-9 and helicopter were used in the search for the suspect.

Last seen wearing a black, puffy winter jacket, dark gray jeans, and a black & white bandana
