- **ARRESTS** Attempted Murder – On January 2nd, detectives from the Violent Crimes Bureau investigated an attempted murder which was reported to have occurred in the 19000 block of Fuller Heights Rd in Triangle (22172) around 2:00PM. The investigation revealed that the accused had arranged to kill herself and the victim, her 3 year old baby girl, in a house fire. The accused gave her daughter cough medicine to make the child fall asleep then proceeded to a bathroom within the residence where she lit a fire with the intent to kill them

**ARRESTS**

Attempted Murder – On January 2nd, detectives from the Violent Crimes Bureau investigated an attempted murder which was reported to have occurred in the 19000 block of Fuller Heights Rd in Triangle (22172) around 2:00PM. The investigation revealed that the accused had arranged to kill herself and the victim, her 3 year old baby girl, in a house fire. The accused gave her daughter cough medicine to make the child fall asleep then proceeded to a bathroom within the residence where she lit a fire with the intent to kill them both. The fire became too intense and the accused extinguished the fire. The accused then drove the victim to Fairfax where she left the child with another family member. After leaving her child, the accused was driving in Fairfax County when she struck a tree. The accused was subsequently transported to an area hospital for treatment. The family member also transported the victim to an area hospital to be evaluated for minor burns as a result of the incident. The victim has since been treated and released from the hospital. The accused has been charged and remains in the hospital for further treatment and evaluation. This investigation was jointly conducted between Prince William County Police, Prince William County Fire Marshal’s Office and Fairfax County Police.

Julia Franzke VAZQUEZ, 26, of Triangle
Charged with attempted first degree murder and arson to occupied dwelling
Court date unavailable, remains in custody at an area hospital


Strangulation | Assault & Battery on Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On January 2nd at 10:50PM, police responded to the 3500 block of Buffalo Ct in Woodbridge (22193) for an assault. The victim, a 23 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she was assaulted by the accused, MACKEY, a known acquaintance, after an argument inside the residence escalated. During the encounter, the accused pushed the victim against a wall and began to choke her. Another person present during the altercation was able to intervene and separate the victim and the accused. Police responded and as officers were arresting the accused, another occupant, SIMPSON, interfered and pushed one of the officers from behind. Following the incident, MACKEY and SIMPSON were both arrested. Minor injuries were reported.

Charged with strangulation, assault & battery and resisting arrest

Jennifer Nichole SIMPSON, 28, of Woodbridge
Charged with assault and battery on LEO and obstruction of justice
Court date and bond information unavailable

Unlawful Wounding | Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On January 2nd at 12:10PM, police responded to the 13800 block of Londonderry Ct in Woodbridge (22193) for a fight. Both accused individuals, who are family members, became involved in a verbal altercation which escalated physically. During the fight, a firearm in the possession of S. WITT discharged. Neither subject was struck by the discharged round. D. WITT left the residence prior to police arrival but was located nearby. Following the investigation, both subjects were arrested. Minor injuries were reported.

Stephen Allen WITT, 33, of Woodbridge
Charged with reckless handling of a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and assault & battery
Court date unavailable, held WITHOUT bond

Damon Barry WITT, 37, of Woodbridge
Charged with unlawful wounding
Court date unavailable, held on a $2,500 secured bond


Narcotics Investigation – On January 2nd, detectives from the Street Crimes Unit concluded a narcotics investigation into the distribution of marijuana with the execution of a search warrant at 4129 Hoffman Dr in Woodbridge (22193). As a result of the search, marijuana, packaging material, and an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency were recovered. The following arrest was also made without incident.

Travis Lee FAITH, 19, of Woodbridge
Charged with distribution of marijuana
Court date unavailable, held WITHOUT bond



**INCIDENTS**

Strong Armed Robbery – On January 2nd at 5:50PM, police responded to the area of Fort Pulaski Ct and Kearsarge Dr in Dumfries (22026) for a robbery. The victim, a 26 year old man of Dumfries, reported to police that he was walking in the area above when a group of unknown men approached him. One of the suspects struck the victim in the back of the head, knocking him to the ground. Once on the ground the group continued to assault the victim before taking his cell phone and jacket and dispersing. Minor injuries were reported.
Lookout:
All suspects were described as black males, between 18 & 20 years of age
The group was last seen wearing black pants and white or black tank top

Residential Burglary – On January 3rd at 1:23AM, police responded to the 4100 block of Ferrara Tr in Woodbridge (22192) for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 8:00PM on January 1st and 11:00PM on January 2nd. Entry appeared to have been made through a rear sliding glass door which had been forced open. Jewelry, a laptop, iPad, camera and 2 gaming consoles, valued around $3,000, in addition to, an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency were reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On January 2nd at 8:39PM, police responded to the 3900 block of Leaf Lawn Ln in Woodbridge (22192) for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 8:00AM and 8:30PM. Entry appeared to have been made through a basement door which had been forced open. Jewelry and other property, valued around $22,000, in addition to, an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency were reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On January 2nd at 6:33PM, police responded to the 2500 block of Sedgwick Pl in Dumfries (22026) for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 7:00AM and 6:30PM. The suspects appeared to have been made through a hole in a wall. A TV, tablet and a gaming console, valued around $1,000, were reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On January 1st at 7:45PM, police responded to the 14000 block of Fallbrook Ln in Woodbridge (22193) for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 8:00PM on December 31st and 5:00PM on January 1st. Entry appeared to have been made through a front door which had been forced open. Jewelry, a gaming console, 3 laptops, and iPod, valued around $5,000, were reported missing.
