Photo contest is under way

Discover Prince William & Manassas, the area’s tourism marketing agency, is calling all photographers for a photo competition.
From the 150th commemoration of the Battle of Second Manassas to Santa ringing in the holidays in Old Town Manassas, 2012 was a fantastic year in Prince William & Manassas and the agency is looking to see how visitors and residents alike captured it in photos.
The Best of 2012 Photo Contest allows both novice and skilled photographers to showcase their photos of the historic sites, quaint towns, one-of-a-kind events and natural beauty that make Prince William & Manassas unique destinations.
A grand prize winner will receive a $500 cash prize and three runners-up will receive a prize packet, which includes a Civil War Experience Pass for two! The passes provide visitors with free admission to six local, historic sites, including Manassas National Battlefield Park.
All photographs submitted may also be used on Discover Prince William & Manassas’ Facebook/Twitter pages, website and in the 2013 Discover Prince William & Manassas Visitor Guide.
The contest ends Jan. 18 and winners will be determined by the number of votes received from Facebook site visitors.
To enter and see official rules, visit www.manassasbullrun.com, www.visitpwc.com or www.Facebook.com/pwcmanassas.
