Seven Prince William County Lions Clubs—Dale City, Lake Jackson, Manassas Host, Manassas Lioness Lions, Montclair, Park West and Woodbridge—have joined together to assemble 96 individual Christmas Boxes to be sent to servicemen and women in Afghanistan and Kuwait. A group of Lions met on Sunday, December 2 at the Park-West building to assemble the boxes and ready them for shipment.

Each box contains 15 to 18 items, all chosen from a list provided by soldiers. These items include nose spray, wet wipes, lotion, body powder, eye drops and other personal care items. Also included are playing cards, puzzle books and movie DVDs. To top it off, we included a beanie baby that they can use to befriend local children and a handmade Christmas card provided by members of the Rocket Club at Baldwin Elementary School.

The boxes are sent to a soldier in each location who has agreed to receive 48 boxes and then distribute them to other soldiers on the base who may not receive anything from home during this Christmas season.
