Walk planned to fight Alzheimer’s

Battlefield Baptist plans kids’ activities

Battlefield Baptist is planning AWANA clubs and the Upward basketball and cheerleading league for children. AWANA is a Bible club for children ages 2 through sixth grade and meets on Wednesdays at 7 p.m.

The Upward basketball and cheerleading league offers sports for children in K-6. The teams focus on sportsmanship and teamwork over individual scoring.

Families can learn anger management

Classes are offered on Tuesdays, Oct. 2-16, in Manassas and on Wednesdays, Oct. 31-Nov. 14 in Woodbridge. All classes meet from 7 to 9 p.m.

Food Pantry fundraiser planned

The Haymarket Regional Food Pantry will host its second annual Silent Auction & Dinner Dance on Sept. 28, from 7 to 11 p.m. at Evergreen Country Club in Haymarket. The Prince William Office of Virginia Cooperative Extension is offering Systematic Training for Effective Parenting (STEP) groups. STEP is a six-week discussion group for parents and others who want to learn more effective ways to communicate and discipline.
