Bring your resume for a free, personal assessment! Brenda Curlee, “the Job Coach”, continues to offer individual consultations, providing advice and assistance with resumes, interviewing, and networking skills. Please call or stop by the Library to register for your individual consultation with the Job Coach. Registration is required. Appointments are scheduled for one hour per person. Additional time may be available upon request.

The Funding Factory turns e-waste into cash by recycling old laptops, inkjet cartridges, laser printer cartridges, cell phones and other small electronics. It's free, easy and good for the environment. 868 Estate Vineyards - Butterfly Month at 868 Estate Vineyards

The grounds of 868 Estate Vineyards and Grandale Restaurant come alive with butterflies in August! We will be celebrating this event during August with different events on each date. Last year, our staff hand raised 140 Monarch butterflies in incubators and released them throughout the season helping to bring the Monarch back to Loudoun County. We will be gathering eggs and milkweed again this year to raise 200 Monarchs. Come see this fascinating metamorphosis and celebrate the butterflies with us at 868 Estate! Arms & Artillery at Jamestown Settlement & Yorktown Victory Center

Make ready and cover your ears! A range of arms and artillery used in the 17th and 18th centuries is the focus of interpretive programs in August. Experience daily artillery firings and explore aspects of Powhatan Indian warfare and English military tactics at Jamestown Settlement and, at the Yorktown Victory Center, Revolutionary War uniforms and military techniques.

Piedmont Softball Association - “Now Accepting Registrations for Girls For Fall 2014”

Piedmont Softball Association is accepting registrations now for ALL area girls interested in its fastpitch programs for this fall. Girls born anytime in the years 1995 through 2008 are very welcome, as well as any skill level from very experienced through basic beginner (regardless of age). Games are played at the home field on Rt. 211 in Amissville, as well as in surrounding counties and farther. The registration fee for players who did NOT play with PSA this past spring is $40.00 for a girl playing on a team 12u and younger AND $45.00 for a girl 13-18 years old ($5.00 discount for each additional player from the same household). No girl will be refused because of inability to pay. For more information and registration forms, call or send an email.

Free Concert at Lenn Park - The MoJoJam Band - (NEW DATE)

The original date for this concert was July 26 but had to be canceled due to a conflict. This is the new date for the concert. Come hear The MoJoJam band perform. All ages invited. Bring a blanket, chair and picnic and enjoy a summer evening concert of rockin' blues with family and friends. No admission fee. Lenn Park also has a covered picnic area with tables, a playground, a professional horse shoe pit and a volleyball court, so come a little early and enjoy all the park has to offer. The National Capitol Squadron Open Hangar Day

The National Capitol Squadron of The Commemorative Air Force hosts a monthly WWII Open Hangar Day the 2nd Saturday of each month. The event is open to the public and provides an opportunity to get up-close and personal with several WWII era aircraft, and to socialize with the pilots, ground crew, and historians of the squadron. The event is held in the Commemorative Air Force Hangar at Culpeper Regional Airport. The National Capitol Squadron is a chartered wing of The Commemorative Air Force, a national 501(c)3 corporation dedicated to preserving, and maintaining in flying condition, America's military aircraft and to honoring the men and women in all branches of our military.
