Athlete of the Week: Austin Jenkins

Accolades

Twins Win. On Jan. 20, the Culpeper Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy held their yearly ceremony for Lee-Jackson Day. Several of the members dressed up for the occasion in period attire. They recognized students from Rappahannock and Culpeper County schools who participated in their essay and coloring contest. They also awarded college scholarships to two Rappahannock High School Seniors. Dylan and Evan Hitt, twin sons of Gary and Amy Hitt of Amissville, both received $1,000 each toward their college tuition. The boys are undecided about which colleges they will be attending, but are looking at George Mason, Virginia Tech, VMI, The Citadel, James Madison University, Penn State and Purdue. The following is a list of the winners of the underclassmen awards and their grade level. Congratulations to all the recipients and a special thanks to the UDC for their generosity to all the students of both school systems.
