868 Estate Vineyards - Butterfly Month at 868 Estate Vineyards

The grounds of 868 Estate Vineyards and Grandale Restaurant come alive with butterflies in August! We will be celebrating this event during August with different events on each date. Last year, our staff hand raised 140 Monarch butterflies in incubators and released them throughout the season helping to bring the Monarch back to Loudoun County. We will be gathering eggs and milkweed again this year to raise 200 Monarchs. Come see this fascinating metamorphosis and celebrate the butterflies with us at 868 Estate! See our website for more details. August 1 - September 18 there will be a butter-fly themed art show in our Tasting Room.

In this animation program geared more toward an adult audience, the way sound effects and music work together to communicate the filmmaker’s vision will be explored. The Southern Cafe & Music Hall Presents - “Bob Log III with The Pork Torta”

"A man in a human cannonball suit soon appeared from a side door, his head completely obscured by a tinted black helmet, its front welded into a telephone which seemed to wirelessly amplify his voice to the audience. Bob Log III launched into a mind-blowing set, finger-picking his beaten-up black guitar for a sound of steel string blues and heavy rock n’ roll. The sound was reminiscent of Jon Spencer Blues Explosion if it had to be categorised, but his music would be better described as Jerry Lee Lewis crossed with a little of Tom Waits’ heavy industrial sounds."
