Council swallows hard, hikes meals tax

Wed., May. 15 - Beginning July 1 eating out in Culpeper will cost more. By a vote of 7-2, the Culpeper Town Council Tuesday night increased the meals tax from five to six cents. The alternative was to raise the real estate tax by a penny and several on the council said they couldn't stomach that.

McWilliams named new Binns assistant principal

Tue., May. 14 - Fauquier prosecutors want a murder suspect with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head committed to a hospital for 24-hour care.

Culpeper man to serve six years for robbery conviction
