Interviewed in May 2013, then mayor Chip Coleman was optimistic about the town's forward momentum and his contribution to the community, The firing of former town manager Kim Alexander and her subsequent defamation suit against Coleman got nasty with the untimely release of his texts and emails just days before the May 2014 election. That and news of the sexual battery case (which had been filed in Dec. 2013) most likely cost him his bid for re-election.
