- On Friday, Feb. 5, the Culpeper Senior Nutrition Site, better known as the Culpeper senior center, hosted a renovation kick off party, culminating almost three and a half years of fundraising.

Young Life spreading the word about Mulch Madness

- Culpeper Young Life is partnering with JK Enterprise to kick off their annual Mulch Madness Fundraiser. This mulch is premium quality, double-shredded, hardwood dark mulch. Students sell mulch by the 2 and 3 CU FT bag at competitive prices, and deliver it themselves, with the help of willing adult volunteers. It's a way for them to raise money by providing a quality product and the sweat-equity of free delivery.

Land Conservation Protects 11,517 Acres in Virginia’s Central to Northern Piedmont

- The Piedmont Environmental Council reports that a combined total of 11,517 acres were protected in Albemarle, Clarke, Culpeper, Fauquier, Greene, Loudoun, Madison, Orange and Rappahannock Counties, last year.

NRCS announces 2016 deadline for Performance Based Conservation Program

- Virginia farmers and forestry producers interested in “supercharging” their land management to get more conservation results can now sign up for the Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP) or renew expiring 2012 CSP contracts to earn incentive payments for the environmental benefits their operations produce.
