- On Friday, Feb. 5, the Culpeper Senior Nutrition Site, better known as the Culpeper senior center, hosted a renovation kick off party, culminating almost three and a half years of fundraising.

NRCS announces 2016 deadline for Performance Based Conservation Program

- Virginia farmers and forestry producers interested in “supercharging” their land management to get more conservation results can now sign up for the Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP) or renew expiring 2012 CSP contracts to earn incentive payments for the environmental benefits their operations produce.

Virginia Elections Board removes GOP’s ‘Loyalty Oath’

- State officials agreed Thursday (Feb. 4) to honor the Republican Party of Virginia’s request to remove a requirement that voters sign a “loyalty oath” before voting in the March 1 presidential primary.

Culpeper Middle schooler earns recognition in Richmond

- At an award ceremony held within a Virginia Municipal League meeting in Richmond last Thursday Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe addressed a large crowd. The governor spoke briefly about education, a recently submitted state budget and employment numbers before he recognized eight young essay writers from across Virginia. One essay winner was selected from eight districts within the state.

Euro-Composites expanding again adding new jobs

- For the second time in five years, Euro-Composites based in Luxembourg, is expanding its Culpeper manufacturing plant with the announcement Wednesday of plans to invest $10.5 million to add 51,000 square feet of plant space and 58 new jobs.

Culpeper Board of Supervisors approve age-restricted housing and use permit

- Following two separate public hearings Tuesday night, the Culpeper County Board of Supervisors approved a rezoning request that allows construction of 132 age-restricted apartment units along Ira Hoffman Lane and a use permit to allow the operation of an inn and event facility near the Fauquier County line.
