TOWN OF LEESBURG
RESIDENTIAL CURBSIDE CUSTOMERS

Beginning on Monday, May 4, 2015, CSI will no longer collect cardboard as part of trash collection on Mondays in the SE/SW and Tuesdays in the NE/NW.

Because cardboard is one of many valuable recyclable materials, CSI has initiated a change in their collection procedure to keep as much cardboard as possible out of the waste system and subsequently the landfill. Cardboard should be separated from trash and other household waste and place atthe curb for collection on recycling days - Thursday for residents in the SE/SW and Friday for residents in the NE/NW. Cardboard placed at the curb on Monday or Tuesday will be tagged and left behind to be collected on the appropriate recycling day.

TOWN OF LEESBURG
DEPARTMENT OF UTILITIES
NOTICE OF WATER MAIN FLUSHING

The Town of Leesburg will conduct controlled flushing of water mains throughout the Town from April 6th thru June 5, 2015. This preventative maintenance program is essential for maintaining the Towns high standards of water quality.

Water mains are flushed by opening fire hydrants and allowing them to flow freely for a short period of time. The flushing cleans out sediment, removes air which may accumulate in the water mains and restores chlorine levels in areas of limited use, thereby, reducing the potential for bacteriological contamination.

Water is safe to drink and safe to use during flushing. However, flushing may result in some discoloration and sediment in the water. If discoloration or sediment is evident, the Town recommends residents avoid doing laundry until the discoloration subsides. Flushing may also introduce air into the water, which may temporarily cause erratic flow.

Flushing is anticipated to begin in the northeast quadrant of town, and then proceed to the southeast, northwest, and southwest quadrants, respectively. Some residents and businesses may experience lower pressure during the flushing in their neighborhood. The Town regrets any inconvenience the flushing operation may cause.

Please call the Utilities Department at 703-737-7075 for further information. For after-hour emergencies, call the Leesburg Police Department at 703-771-4500.
