Wreaths Across America ceremony is Saturday

We just wanted to take a few minutes of your time to remind you of the Wreaths Across America (WAA) 2012 Project, set for 15 December 2012 (THIS SATURDAY). We have included all of the details about the project below...EVERYONE is welcome to participated in the project at Culpeper National Cemetery.

The truck was loaded today at the Wreaths Across America Headquarters in Harrington, Maine...We are very proud to announce that we have garnered 750 sponsored wreaths to be placed on veterans graves in the new section (NUMBERED SECTIONS, off of East Chandler street) at the Culpeper National Cemetery. Special thanks to our official organizational sponsors (the Monticello Composite Squadron Civil Air Patrol VA-091, the Ladies Auxiliary Veterans Of Foreign Wars Post 2524, the Renegade Pigs Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club and the Washington DC Pipes and Drums) along with many, many other individuals, groups, organizations and businesses. As a note, this is just about DOUBLE the number of wreaths we placed last year.

All of the sponsored wreaths will be placed PRIOR to the official ceremony. On Saturday, 15 December, we plan to arrive at 9:30 am, IN THE NEW PART OF THE CEMETERY (numbered sections...one block South of the main cemetery) to unbox, fluff and place the sponsored wreaths in an aesthetically pleasing way to render the appropriate honors to our veterans. We will continue until all wreaths have been placed. Again, ALL ARE WELCOME to assist. While we cannot accommodate "grave specific" requests, we have ordered a limited number of extra wreaths to be purchased on-site for individuals to take them to a specific grave sites but please arrive early and see one of the Blue Knights.

The Blue Knights International Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club is again honored this year to lead the official Wreaths Across America ceremony at the Culpeper National Cemetery. The official ceremony begins promptly at noon on Saturday, December 15, 2012...and again, ALL ARE WELCOME to attend and it will take place in the new section. The ceremony is to remember those who served, honor their sacrifices, and teach our younger generations about the high price of our freedoms. Specially made wreaths for Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Merchant Marines and POW/MIA will be used during a unique ceremony that will be coordinated simultaneously at over 750 participating locations all across the Country and around the world.

We look forward to seeing you there and making this a memorable season in remembering and honoring our veterans. Bring your friends, family and neighbors and we will bring some coffee, doughnuts and other snack items.
