Two suspects arrested

At approximately 2 p.m. on Oct. 10, Culpeper County Sheriff's Office Cpl. C.T. Hibbs was on patrol in the area of the 6000th block of Monumental Mills Road in Rixeyville.

Hibbs observed two suspects that had outstanding warrants for the Sept. 16 shooting into an occupied dwelling.

The two suspects, Blake Jarrells and Daniel Jarrells, fled on foot into a nearby wooded area after being approached by Hibbs. Numerous K-9
Deputies and a helicopter were called in to assist with searching for the subjects.

Code Red was activated and the citizens in the Rixeyville area were notified to stay indoors. The reason for the activation was to help reduce the
disturbance of K-9 tracking as well as the safety of the citizens. A second Code Red provided the description of the two suspects.

Due to the Code Red activation a citizen reported a possible sighting of one of the suspects.
Deputies responded to the area and apprehended, Daniel Jarrells, without incident.

At approximately 9:30 p.m. Culpeper County Sheriff’s deputies along with the Culpeper Town Police apprehended Blake Jarrells in the Town of Culpeper, again without incident.

Sheriff Scott Jenkins would like to thank the citizens of Culpeper County for their assistance as well as the numerous assisting agencies in the
apprehension of the two-wanted subjects.
