‘Trees for Troops’ continues at library

The Friends of the Culpeper County Liberay, along with Glengary Tree Farm, are working to provide a Christmas tree to military families who couldn't afford one.

The program is psonsored by the Virginia Christmas Tree Association, the Christmas SPIRIT Foundation and FedEx.

Each six-foot Frasier Fir is $30, grown in Virginia and delivered to military familes at either Fort Belvoir or Marine Base Quantico.

Of the $30, half pays for the tree and half goes to the Friends for their sponsorship. Last year more than 19,300 trees were delivered to more than 70 military bases.

For more information call the Culpeper County Library at: 825-8691.

Trees can be donated through Dec. 7.
