Culpeper Health System welcomes new and familiar faces
© Culpeper TimesAs the second largest industry in Culpeper County, the Culpeper Regional Health System has grown 18 percent in over five years.
Over 1,500 are employed either directly with Culpeper Regional Hospital or with related services like Powell Wellness Center .
The partnership established with the University of Virginia Medical Center remains a strong collaboration expanding the hospital''s services particularly in radiation oncology.
Patient care offered with compassion, competence and courtesy has been at the forefront of the hospital's mission statement in its over 50-year history.
While President Lee Kirk admitted that he was sorry to lose Sandy Boone as director of the Powell Wellness Center, he was thrilled to have her head up marketing for the hospital.
“Sandy's energy and enthusiasm make her perfect for this new position,” said Lee at a recent media luncheon..
Eric Good replaces Boone as the Director of the Powell Wellness Center. Together they are putting fitness at the forefront of staying and remaining healthy.
Dr. Tom Reynolds is a familiar face in the Culpeper medical community. He has garnered a reputation in his over 30 years of service as a doctor who genuinely cares.
These three and their new positions were recently announced by the Culpeper Regional Health System.
Recently named Director of Marketing and Strategic Relations for Culpeper Regional Hospital, Sandy Boone joined Culpeper Regional Health System in 2007 as the Executive Director of Powell Wellness Center. Sandy has been involved in the medical fitness industry for over 20 years, spending 12 years of her career with RMH Wellness Center in Harrisonburg, VA. Prior to working in the health and fitness industry, she enjoyed 12 years in the financial world with Jefferson National Bank based in Charlottesville, VA.
Sandy currently serves on the Country Club of Culpeper Board of Directors; the Culpeper Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, chairing the Membership Committee; Powell Wellness Center Board of Directors; and Southeastern Hospital Health and Fitness Alliance Board of Directors. She also served six years on the Medical Fitness Association Board of Directors.
Along with volunteering as a USA Swimming Stroke & Turn Official, Sandy is an instructor/coach in the Culpeper County Public Schools “E” Squared Program.
Sandy resides in Culpeper County with her husband Harold and two children, Justin (22) & Annie (14).
Taking over for Sandy Boone, Eric Good serves as the new Director of Powell Wellness Center (PWC), the 38,000 square foot medically integrated health and fitness center which is an entity of the Culpeper Regional Health System. Eric has been involved in the fitness and medical industry for 24 years and has spent the past 17 years in Fishersville, VA, serving as the Director of Augusta Health Lifetime Fitness, which was awarded the Certified Medical Fitness Facility of the Year in 2011. Prior to working in the medical fitness industry, Eric spent 6 years in the commercial fitness industry in Falls Church and Harrisonburg, VA and is also a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant in the state of Virginia.
Eric has served as a committee member for the National Physical Activity Plan for all Americans. He is a past president and currently serves on the Southeastern Hospital Health and Fitness Alliance Board of Directors and is a member of the Medical Fitness Association.
Currently, Eric resides in Waynesboro, VA with his wife Becky and two children Simon (11) and Sydney (8). He will be moving to Culpeper in the near future.
Dr. Tom Reynolds
Culpeper Regional Health System recently welcomed Dr. Tom Reynolds as the Chair of the CRHS Board of Directors for 2012.
Dr. Tom Reynolds has served the Culpeper community for over 30 years as a family physician and currently works for Culpeper Medical Associates at Culpeper Family Practice. His compassionate care and dedication to his patients, and his positive, friendly attitude has made him well loved and respected in the region.
In addition to practicing at Culpeper Family Practice, Dr. Reynolds was voted “Doctor of the Year” at Culpeper Regional Hospital in 2010. Reynolds has also served on the hospital and health system boards and as the Medical Director for the Free Clinic, which he has been involved with since its inception. He has chaired the Medical Staff Quality Committee and he participated on the Culpeper Physician Hospital Organization Board as well as the Culpeper Medical Associates Board. Dr. Reynolds also served as Interim Vice President of Medical Staff Services at CRH during a leave of absence by Dr. Mort Chiles.
“Dr. Reynolds is always kind, personable and ready to support all aspects of the hospital, whether it is through his work on the Board, supporting committees, or by using his medical expertise,” said President and CEO, Lee Kirk. “I am so pleased to have him as our new Board Chair.”
