Thursday, Nov. 15
• Itsy Bitsy Baby Storytime at Culpeper County Library. First and third Thursdays. At 10:30 a.m. For babies birth to 2 years of age. Baby songs, nursery rhymes, finger plays, stretching exercises and short books will be shared. No registration necessary.
• Baby care essentials. Fauquier Hospital Family Birthing Center. From 6:30 to 9 p.m. Cost: $25. Register: 316-3588
• Culpeper Middle School will hold a meeting of "STARS" (Spirit of Togetherness Among Rising Stars) at the CMS library from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Friday, Nov. 16
• Prepared Childbirth Weekend Series at Culpeper Regional Hospital Beck House, 550 Sunset Lane on Friday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Details: Our Prepared Childbirth Series is an interactive class taught by Family Birth Center nurses who are Certified Childbirth Instructors. This class will prepare the expectant mother and her support person for the birthing experience. The topics include the anatomy of pregnancy, exercise, signs of labor, when to go to the hospital and what to pack, the stages of the birth process, relaxation and breathing techniques, the use of birthing balls, analgesia, epidurals, alternative ways to manage pain, cesarean deliveries and much more! •Open Mic Night at Raven's Nest from 6 to 8 p.m. A monthly cultural activity every third Friday. Sponsored by Christina Culley, philosopher, poet and proprietor of Golden Essence Massage Therapy in Culpeper. From 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.

• Holiday fair at Fauquier Hospital from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Bistro and outside the Bistro entrance. Vendors will be selling various holiday crafts, decorations, paintings, photographs and jewelry. Info.: 316-2605.
• "The Cameraman" A sidewalk tintype photographer develops a crush on a secretary who works for MGM Newsreels. He tries to get a job as a newsreel cameraman to be near her, whatever it takes. • Culpeper Farmers Market, sponsored by Culpeper Renaissance, Inc. open from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the East Davis and Commerce streets parking lot. More than 30 participants. • "Cloak and Dagger" A young boy with a penchant for spy thrillers and video games finds himself in the middle of real espionage when he's pursued by spies after he comes into possession of a video game cartridge containing top-secret government information. • Silent Movie Double Feature: "Almost a Lady" A dress-store model invited to a high-society party is talked into impersonating a famous authoress by the hostess in order to impress a duke. Several turns of mistaken identity ensue. Starring Marie Prevost and George K. Arthur. Black and white, 60 minutes.
"You Never Know Women" Two members of a Russian troupe of acrobats on tour in the U.S. find their love for one another is threatened by a manipulative playboy. Starring: Florence Vidor, Clive Brook and Lowell Sherman. Black and white, 60 minutes. Free at the Library of Congress Packard Campus Theatre, 19053 Mt. Pony Road, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
• Freedman's Farm and Civil War Campsite walking tour at James Madison's Montpelier. Tour the Gilmore Farm, home of George Gilmore, who was born a slave at Montpelier, followed by a walking tour of the 1863-64 Confederate winter encampment site. Begins at 2 p.m. Info.: 672-2728.
• Third Thursday at the Museum of Culpeper History from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Cost: $3 per child; one parent is free. Children must be accompanied by an adult who must stay for the whole program. All supplies are provided for children ages 6 to 10. This month: Discover our Native Americans and make an Indian bead dress.
• Eastern View High School National Honor Society carwash from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
