Battlefield friends plan cleanup

On Dec. 1 from 9 a.m. to noon, volunteers will gather once again to patrol the Wilderness Battlefield.

The event is sponsored by the Friends of Wilderness Battlefield Resources Committee.

Though the Friends group battles trash year-round, this will be the first organized fall cleanup day.

The primary objective will be to cleanup battlefield roadways No. 20 and Hill-Ewell.

Depending on the turnout, other special projects many be considered.

Volunteers are asked to arrive at the Wilderness Exhibit Shelter on Route 20 between 8:30 and 8:45 a.m. Everyone should bring gloves and sturdy shoes. Bags, reflective vests, snacks and drinks will be provided.
