State Theatre offers spring break camps

Photo by Ian Chini. Youth Theatre Camps held at the State Theatre are broken into eight week sessions: teamwork, movement, character, voice, text, rehearsal, performance and sharing skills. Saturday’s theme was character. These campers used a coloring exercise to help teach them about design and the ‘colors’ of their unique characters including personality traits.
- Executive Director Steven Barker has launched a series of education programs to further expand the reach of the theatre as a community venue on many levels. The StateTheatre Education Program’s (STEP) mission is to provide a nurturing, inspiring, creative, and engaging environment for learners of all ages to grow.

Craftier Than Ever: Culpeper’s Fourth Annual ‘Gnarly Hops and Barley Fest’ April 30

- Culpeper Renaissance Inc. (CRI) is proud to serve up its fourth annual beer festival this April. Over the past several months, the team has been planning the best Gnarly Hops and Barley Fest yet. Ticket holders can look forward to several new breweries on tap and a wide selection of mouth-watering local food. Located again in the historic Downtown Culpeper area, this craft beer festival is sure to live up to its “gnarly” name.

Young Life spreading the word about Mulch Madness

- Culpeper Young Life is partnering with JK Enterprise to kick off their annual Mulch Madness Fundraiser. This mulch is premium quality, double-shredded, hardwood dark mulch. Students sell mulch by the 2 and 3 CU FT bag at competitive prices, and deliver it themselves, with the help of willing adult volunteers. It's a way for them to raise money by providing a quality product and the sweat-equity of free delivery.
