State Theatre urges you to Give Locally this Tuesday

- Despite a short time frame, State Theatre organizers remain optimistic that the necessary funds will be in place by year's end to keep the theatre doors open.

- Four names will be on the November 3 ballot running for Culpeper County Sheriff. Pat Coffey, Mike Grant, Scott Jenkins and C.J. Johnson. Incumbent Sheriff Scott Jenkins seeks re-election to a second term.

Attorneys amend civil suit against Central Virginia Regional Jail

- Attorneys representing Sherry Thornhill, administrator of the estate of her son Shawn Berry who died Aug. 9, 2014 in the Central Virginia Regional Jail (CVRJ), filed an amended civil suit last Thursday in U. S. District Court in Charlottesville seeking certification of the complaint as a class action suit by opening up the case to unknown plaintiffs who may have similar grievances.

Our thru-hike ended on July 11, 2015 at the northern terminus of the Appalachian Trail, Mt. Katahdin in Maine. We had spent four months and four days of the past year hiking up the east coast.
