Wed., Mar. 6 - Town of Culpeper public works and light and power crews began working 12-hour shifts in preparation for the area’s first major snow event, which began about 10:30 p.m. last night.

Wed., Mar. 6 - As heavy wet snow continued to fall, winds picked up and reports of the number of county residents without power increased, Culpeper County Board of Supervisors Chairwoman Sue Hansohn declared a local state of emergency this morning.

Tue., Mar. 5 - VDOT advises motorists to stay off the roads as a major storm is predicted to start Tuesday evening.

Fri., Mar. 1 - In 1749 17-year-old future president George Washington was commissioned to survey and plot what would later become Culpeper. He said the town was located in “a high and pleasant situation.”
